IF YOU WISH TO BECOME A MASSAGE THERAPIST:
After successfully completing your course in Relaxation Massage, you have the choice of taking
some time to put into practice your new trade and then come back at a later date to further
your studies, or you can move straight into the next module from your chosen Certificate or
Diploma.
The successful completion of your Relaxation Massage Course will allow you to become a member
of the M.A.A. (Massage Association of Australia) and to apply for your discounted insurance.
This means you can immediately start working, knowing that you have the support of one of
Australia's most respected Associations, along with being fully insured, whilst studying further
to achieve your Full Qualification.
Moods unique techniques will teach you all you will ever need to know, without inundating you with
the things that you don’t.
Our courses have been tried and tested to ensure that adequate time is spent with each
student, so as they have a comprehensive understanding of what is being taught. Moods classes
are kept to a maximum of 12 students per class for this very reason.
What a great way to start your New Career!
Upon successful graduation in Relaxation massage (Cluster 1), you will then move into Swedish
massage (Cluster II) and then into Therapeutic massage (Cluster III).
Each Cluster picks up where the last left off, so as to enable your learning to be gradual, which
in turns gives you as close to 100% memory retention as possible. This will also give you maximum
understanding of the knowledge you are taught, rather than just passing your exams on memory.

Remedial Massage or you may wish to branch off and specialise in another modality altogether.

VET / VCAL
VCAL
What is VCAL?
The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) is a hands-on option for Year 11 and 12.
VCAL provides practical work related experience with literacy and numeracy skills and personal development and is suitable for students looking for an alternative to VCE who would like to combine their study with hands on work related skills.
VCAL is structured at three award levels; Foundation, Intermediate and Senior.
Further information about VCAL is available on the website of Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).
Where does VCAL lead?
On successful completion, you will receive a VCAL Certificate and a Statement of Results. You will also receive a Statement of Attainment or certificate listing the units of study you have completed in the trade area. Opportunities following completion of VCAL include an Apprenticeship or Traineeship, VCAL Senior, VCE Year 12, TAFE programs or employment.
Who can apply?
VCAL is generally a one year course and has been designed to extend the opportunities for young students aged 15-19 years old who have not successfully achieved a Year 12 or equivalent.
Why study VCAL at Moods?
You can study VCAL at school but most people prefer to study the course at Moods because the learning environment suits them better. At Moods, you will be studying amongst students that are all passionate in the same field. You will be expected to take on responsibility for your learning and be able to work in an adult environment.
VET
What is VET?
VET aims to provide people with the skills and knowledge they require to:
² enter the workforce for the first time
² re-enter the workforce after absences
² train or re-train for a new job
² upgrade their skills
² move into further study in VET or university.
VET offers a range of nationally recognised qualifications, from certificates that can be completed in a relatively short time through to advanced diplomas that generally require two years of post-school study.
Who can apply for VET?
In most Australian states, anyone over 15 years of age can access VET. Around half of all school leavers undertake vocational training within a year or two after leaving school. Over half of all students undertaking VET are over the age of 25 years and the vast majority of VET students study part-time.
